SEND Teaching Assistant – Helping Young People Thrive £90 to £110 per dayThis is a brilliant role for anyone who wants to make school feel accessible and enjoyable for pupils with additional needs. You’ll be joining a secondary school with a dedicated SEND team who believe deeply in inclusive education and who work hard to make sure no student feels left behind.Your role will be hands-on, varied, and incredibly rewarding. Some students will need help understanding class content, some will need strategies to manage sensory or emotional needs, and others simply need the reassurance of a trusted adult nearby. You’ll build strong, caring relationships that help students feel understood and supported, even on the tougher days.The SEND department here is excellent at communication—they’ll make sure you know each pupil’s needs, triggers, strengths, and progress. You’ll never be left guessing or working things out alone. They value teamwork, consistency, and empathy above everything.You’ll spend your days: • Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, or learning differences • Helping students access classwork and remain engaged • Using structured strategies to support emotional regulation • Building positive, trusting relationships • Working closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and pastoral leadsThis role is perfect for people with backgrounds in care, coaching, mentoring, early years, SEND, or anyone who simply has a natural gift for helping young people feel safe and capable.
