Job description Are you a qualified Teacher or HLTA looking for a role from September where you can have a lasting impact across School? Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, experienced and qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEND Schools in Ashington on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in the Learning Support Department and build positive relationships with pupils to have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. About the School: The role is based in an inspirational SEND School setting in Ashington. The School supports pupils across the Primary School and Secondary School age range (4-18) and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups. The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team. Pay, Hours and Contract: Pay – Between £100-120 per day DOE Hours – Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Start Date – ASAP Location – Ashington About the HLTA Role: The role will involve PPA Cover in the absence of Class Teachers across the School The role will also involve some planning and delivery of learning activities to pupils in small groups. The role will also involve supporting pupils with different types of SEND that pupils have may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, SLD, MLD and PMLD. Some pupils may require personal care and some pupils may be none-verbal or pre-verbal. A key part of the role will be to build a rapport and a positive relationships with pupils to help them to engage with their learning and make progress both academically and as young people. A key part of the role will also be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom. Experience/Qualifications and Requirements: A Teaching (QTS), Supporting Teaching and Learning or HLTA Qualification Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK Experience within an SEND School Setting (desired) Experience of planning and delivering learning activities to small groups of pupils. An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff. A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND within an SEND School Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional references that cover the last two years
