INTERNAL ONLY (DCC Employees Only)An opportunity has arisen within Devon Strategic Procurement Service for a Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer.This role is within the Services team and is required to support Devon County Council by carrying out procurement projects within the sub category specialist areas and to develop and manage sub category specific procurement strategies ensuring that all procurement activity is value engineered through the Council’s category management framework appropriately and proportionally including responsibility for formulating sub category strategy through market analysis, developing the business case and options appraisal across a specific portfolio of contracts, providing professional advice to Operational Staff, Senior Managers and Budget holders to ensure that all aspects of the contractual and commissioning activity of the sub category are managed legally, effectively, according to strong commercial principles and within the category management framework.Further that the appropriate standard of quality and performance is achieved by contracted services, and the on-going development of contracts to meet the future strategic needs of the Authority, its partner organisations, and the people of Devon.
