Finance Manager Location: York Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annumRobert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a leading wealth management firm in York. This is a senior and pivotal role within the organisation, responsible for ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and operational efficiency across both client accounting and internal finance teams. You will work closely with Directors and compliance leadership to support the continued professionalisation and growth of the firm.The RoleKey responsibilities include:Practice & Client Accounting ManagementLead a small accountancy practice providing services to client companies, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.Oversee statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax filings.Ensure compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and FCA/AML obligations.Supervise and develop accounting staff, maintaining high professional standards.In-House Accounting & Financial ControlManage all internal financial activities for the business and related companies.Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.Liaise with auditors, tax advisers, and banks, ensuring accurate statutory filings.Leadership, Strategy & ComplianceLead and develop a high-performing team.Support board-level discussions on financial performance, risk, and operational planning.Maintain robust internal controls and segregation of client and firm funds.The Ideal CandidateFully qualified ACA or ACCASignificant post-qualification experience in practice and/or trust/company services.Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT, corporation tax, and trust accounting principles.Proven leadership ability and experience managing client accounts.Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).Salary & Benefits£55,000 - £65,000 per annumComprehensive benefits package including pension and bonus scheme.Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
