Contract Type: Fixed term until February 2026, maternity or pastoral leave cover  

Salary: £32,000 to £50,000

Location: Portsmouth

GSL Education is supporting a local secondary school in Portsmouth, Hampshire, in the search for a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Music Teacher. Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum standards.
Use differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Encourage a love of music through creative teaching approaches, incorporating practical activities and cutting-edge resources.
Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
Collaborate with colleagues to refine teaching practices and contribute to the wider school community.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that inspires curiosity and a passion for music.
Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Music, Education, or a related field (a Master’s degree is a plus).
PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualifications.
Proven experience teaching music at secondary level, with the ability to teach Key Stage 4 students.
Familiarity with the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
A genuine passion for music education and inspiring students.
Skills:

Strong lesson planning and classroom management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Organisational and time-management expertise.
Creativity and enthusiasm for innovative teaching methods.
