This is a key and exciting role, which will suit someone who is innovative, responsive and has the right skills and experience in mental health.
Main duties of the job Peer Support Workers are experts by experience of their own recovery.
You will be expected to draw on your own experiences of recovery, when appropriate, and will be given training on the most effective way to do this.
Therefore, the essential criteria for this role is having had psychosis and ideally support from an Early Intervention team.

Job description Job responsibilities Build trusting and collaborative relationship with the service user, whilst working in a short term context.
Carry out role adhering to Mental Health Bristol Partnerships policies, procedures, values, code of conduct and current legislation using a Recovery orientated, psychologically informed, equalities based approach To be an expert through personal lived experience of mental health recovery; to draw upon lived experience of mental health support needs and recovery to assist people to move forward positively.
To be active in own recovery and show a willingness to share recovery experience Person Specification Experience Essential Past lived experience of psychosis A minimum of one years significant experience working with people with mental health needs.
Proven lived experience of homelessness and/ or mental health issue or substance misuse and the ability to share your experience and recovery positively.
Proven experience of working with people with multiple needs ( mental health, homelessness, alcohol/drug dependency, rough sleeping) Proven experience of carrying out needs and/or risk assessments and the support planning process Desirable Proven experience of working within a housing and support agency Proven experience of supporting people with mental health issues through intentional peer support
