Job summary There are exciting times ahead for Neurodevelopmental Services in West Wales and we would like to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated band 6 Neurodevelopmental Practitioner to join our friendly and inclusive Adult ADHD and Integrated Autism Services.
We are seeking to employ a professional registrant (Registered Nurse (Adult), RMN, Registered Nurse (LD) to join the team.
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in the field of neuro-divergence and a passion for improving the lives of neurodivergent adults.
You will have a range of transferrable skills and a desire for developing your skills and knowledge around ADHD, autism and neuro-divergence.
You will be able to work under pressure to provide high quality, collaborative care and support to neuro-divergent individuals with or without mental health and or learning difficulties.
Interviews to be held on 20/1/25 Main duties of the job Your work in the first instance will be to help support the safe and effective titration of adults being treated for ADHD, but in time will involve diagnostic assessment of autism and ADHD (full training will be provided).
As the service evolves, you will be required to work with neuro-divergent adults to help identify and address support needs, working in partnership with individuals, family members, services across Hywel Dda and partner organisations.
The Adult ADHD Service offers diagnostic assessment and treatment of ADHD.
West Wales integrated Autism service, offers diagnostic assessment of autism in adults who do not meet eligibility criteria for statutory services such as mental health and learning disabilities.
The service also offers time-limited support and professional consultation and engagement with every sector, in addition to delivering training around autism.
Both services are co-located and caters for the Hywel Dda University Health Board region.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Relevant degree in professional specialism (Nursing/Allied Health Professional/Social Worker) Registered member of Professional Body Post-registration qualification or demonstrates equivalent experience to post- graduate diploma level Demonstrates an understanding of national and local policy related to neuro-divergence Demonstrates an understanding of the needs of neurodivergent individuals (in particular ADHD/Autism), their families, carers and partners Has insight into the changing needs of neuro-divergent individuals across the lifespan Has knowledge of multi-agency partnership working and /or provision of multidisciplinary care/support of neuro-divergent adults Ability to maintain and provide accurate records, data and reports as required Has an understanding of the local, cultural, linguistic and demographic factors which influence service delivery in own clinical specialism Desirable Training in Neurodevelopmental conditions Teaching / mentoring Qualification Further higher degree or post Graduate Cert in clinical /therapeutic practice Can demonstate a professional interest in ADHD and other Neurodivergencies Has knowledge of a range of specialist assessment and intervention tools relavent to the client group Experience Essential Has knowledge of working with adults and or children diagnosed with ADHD and/or autism Willingness to develop knowledge and experience in working with neuro-divergent individuals across the life span Experience of multiagency partnership working and ability to promote multi-disciplinary/multi-agency and collaborative practice with a wide range of stakeholders and partners Ability and experience in developing,planning implementing and delivering a range of training packages to others Experience in using information gathering/reporting systems and is IT literate in the use of appropriate software Demonstates Effective risk assessment and risk management experience Desirable Knowledge and experience of strategies and approaches that support Neurodivergent people and their families Experience supporting individuals with complex Biopsychosocial needs Experience in Mental health assessment skills Post registration experience of mental health or Learning disabilities Demonstrates experience of supporting, supervising and developing skills of less experienced staff Language Skills Desirable Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
