Join Our Team as a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant  Location: Ingatestone, Essex Type: Full-Time Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?
We're working with a school in Ingatestone to appoint a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant who can provide dedicated support to children with autism and other unique needs.

 What You'll Be Doing: Nurture & Support: Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, offering tailored support to help them succeed both academically and personally.
Assist in Learning: Help children with Autism, Asperger's, ADHD, and other SEN needs by supporting them in their lessons and ensuring they understand the subjects.
Hands-On Approach: Demonstrate practical strategies to help engage and motivate pupils, providing emotional and behavioural support as needed.
Lunch Support: Be there to assist children during lunch times, ensuring they feel included, supported, and happy throughout the school day.
Be a Role Model: Apply rules consistently, show fairness, and use excellent de-escalation skills to create a calm and positive learning environment.
 What We're Looking For: Experience or Interest in SEN: You may already have experience working with children with autism, ADHD, speech or language difficulties, or cerebral palsy.
If not, an interest in this field is just as valuable
Resilience & Adaptability: You'll need to be flexible, adaptable, and able to handle changes in the daily routine with ease.
Communication & Teamwork: Strong communication skills are essential—you'll be liaising with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
Curriculum Knowledge: Ideally, you'll have some understanding of the EYFS and/or KS1 curriculum and knowledge of strategies to engage pupils with complex needs.
 Qualifications & Skills: Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualifications are preferred.
A good standard of English and Mathematics is essential.
Basic computer skills will be useful.
Previous experience working with challenging behaviour is desirable, but training can be provided if you're new to this field.
