Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, ambitious and enthusiastic hard working Specialist Practitioner to join the safeguarding team within Essex Partnership University Trust (EPUT).
You will be responsible for providing safeguarding Specialist Mental Health and Community support to staff across EPUT in mental health and Community Services including Specialist Children services.
EPUT provides services across Essex, Suffolk and Bedfordshire.
This will include the provision of training and providing supervision to practitioners who are managing safeguarding cases or working with service users who are vulnerable.
Main duties of the job You must hold a professional qualification in one of the following areas: Registered Nurse, RMN RSCN, Diploma in Social work or Registered Health Professional.
You will be Educated to degree level (or working towards) in a health or social care related subject or equivalent with a good knowledge of Children and Young People's and Adult legislation and have experience of delivering supervision and training.
Experience of working within a mental health Trust would be desirable and the ability to demonstrate a Think Family approach to delivering safeguarding is essential as the team adopt an integrated approach.
Working in partnership with all agencies you will be part of a team that promotes the welfare of adults and children both internal and external to EPUT and supports the Trust in meeting its public protection responsibilities.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings.
Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

Job description Job responsibilities Take a professional lead for Safeguarding Children and Adults within EPUT working as part of the Safeguarding Team.
Will be responsible for contributing to audit frameworks for clinicians working with children and adults requiring safeguarding.
Will provide advice, support and supervision on safeguarding issues for the organisation or other health service providers and agencies.
Will ensure that clinical practice in relation to child and adult protection is consistent with evidence based safeguarding services.
Will be expected to contribute to the development of safeguarding policies that reflect National and local legislation and guidance and ensure policy interpretation for the organisation.
Will ensure the organisations best interests are represented in the multi-agency arena, and effective two-way communication with regards to all aspects of safeguarding.
Will deliver specialist advice and training on safeguarding including to all staff who come into contact or work directly with children, adults and their families.
Will work as part of an integrated safeguarding team covering the duty system.
Will support the development of Think Family services, promoting the links between specialist community services, mental health services and acute and primary care aiming at integrated care.
Participate in all aspects of the Safeguarding Agenda including Safeguarding Children, Safeguarding Adults, Prevent, Honour Based Abuse including FGM and Forced Marriage, Domestic Abuse, MARAC & Modern Slavery and the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
