Senior Asstistant Technologist Nuclear Medicine Radiopharmacy

Job summary Band 4 Associate PractitionerTo work as an Associate Practitioner/ Senior Assistant Technologist actively involved in all routine aspects of technical work required for imaging, non-imaging, and in-vitro laboratory duties.
They will assist the multidisciplinary team of qualified staff to ensure the provision of a high quality and efficient Nuclear Medicine Service.
The post holder will work to agreed departmental protocols and required to rotate between the main Nuclear Medicine Department and PET CT Department.
They will assist with the acquisition of a range of routine patient procedures and imaging, undertake venepuncture and cannulation.
Also, involved with and supporting in Radiopharmacy and laboratory work.
The post holder will also be involved in performing a range of daily QC procedures throughout the department.

Main duties of the job The post holder will be required to work without close supervision but always with access to a qualified technologist for advice / guidance.
They will not be responsible for modifications to standard procedure, end points of investigations nor the preparation or administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
They may be requested to assist in more complex procedures under the direct supervision of a qualified technologist.Assisting in Radiopharmacy preparation and production.Other duties will include the disposal of radioactive waste, environment monitoring for radioactive contamination, stock checking and maintenance, preparation of work areas and equipment, and the pipetting of patient blood samples in the in-vitro laboratory.
The post holder may be required to rotate through all areas of the department on a rota basis.
