Job Description Summary Résumé : En tant que Directeur du Design Office, vous serez rattaché au Responsable R&D du departement " Core Technologies, Systems and Operations Grid Automation ".
Vous assurerez un leadership technologique pour Grid Automation et supporterez plus de 500 ingénieurs au sein de l'équipe R&D.
Votre rôle consistera à définir la Roadmap Technologique, à faire progresser les compétences en R&D et à garantir l'application des règles de conception ainsi que la gestion et mitigation des risques dans le cadre de development R&D.
De plus, vous superviserez la fonction Design Authority, en alignant les conceptions de produits et de solutions avec la stratégie globale.
#LI-ML2 ***** Summary: As the Design Office Director, you will report to the Grid Automation Core Technologies, Systems, and Operations Leader.
You will provide technology leadership for the GA and will support over 500 engineers across the R&D team within Grid Automation.
Your role will involve defining the technology roadmap, advancing R&D competencies, and ensuring design due diligence and risk management.
Additionally, you will oversee the GA Design Authority function, aligning product and solution designs with the overall strategy.

Favoriser une culture d'engagement et de collaboration des équipes R&D globales et interfonctionnelles.
Responsabilités Clés: Fournir un leadership en tant que Directeur du Design Office pour l'activité R&D Grid Automation Definir les roadmaps technologiques de Grid Automation en cohérence avec les roadmaps des produits.
Traduire la stratégie technologique en directives de conception pour aligner le developpement des produits/plateformes.
Diriger l'évolution des roadmaps technologiques.
Rédiger des Documents d'Exigences du CTO (CRD) pour les principaux programmes NPI.
Réaliser des audits formels de conceptions de produits pour assurer la cohérence de conception avec la stratégie technologique, approuver les dossiers de conceptions lors des passages de jalons (NPI - Jalons techniques) Sélectionner les technologies et composants clés à standardiser (CPU, bibliothèques logicielles, composants open-source, etc.).
Piloter la conception des fonctionnalités et les capacités à l'échelle du portefeuille pour la cohérence de la gamme de produits (par exemple, licences logicielles, UI/UX, interopérabilité).
Rester connecté aux tendances technologiques et à l'évolution de l'industrie pour favoriser la différenciation des solutions.
Maintenir la supervision de la Design Authority pour les plateformes de produits et des architectures logicielles.
Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes des Product Management pour assurer une cohérence de la roadmap technologique avec les roadmap Produits et la stratégie business Fournir les guides de conception pour les NPI (Introduction de Nouveaux Produits), y compris présider et approuver les étapes de revue technique.
Identifier et mitiger les risques techniques (cybersécurité, technologie, normes).
Évaluer les compétences de l'équipe R&D et mettre en œuvre des mesures pour combler les lacunes afin d'atteindre les objectifs commerciaux.
Diriger la formalisation et la diffusion des retours d'expériences et des meilleures pratiques au sein des équipes R&D.
Utiliser l'expérience et les connaissances pour aider à résoudre les problèmes techniques des produits Grid Automation Promouvoir des initiatives liées à la qualité et à la fiabilité de la conception.
Fournir un leadership, un mentorat et un développement du vivier d'Ingénieurs avec un potentiel de " principal engineers, and Consultant Engineers " Qualifications Requises: Diplôme de licence en Sciences de l'Ingénierie Électronique ou équivalent.
Minimum de 15 ans d'expérience dans le développement de produits techniques.
Minimum de 5 ans d'expérience en tant qu'Architecte.
Capacité à interagir efficacement avec toutes les fonctions et niveaux d'une organisation mondiale.
Compétences solides en leadership, influence et relations interpersonnelles.
Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite, avec la capacité d'articuler et de promouvoir une vision et de négocier efficacement.
Autorisation légale de travailler au Canada, avec un emploi conditionné à la réussite de la vérification préalable à l'emploi.
Caractéristiques Souhaitées: Compréhension du domaine de la Protection, du Contrôle et de l'Automatisation des Réseaux électriques.
Expérience préalable dans le développement de contrôles industriels pour les systèmes électriques.
Expérience technique large et expertise approfondie dans une discipline d'ingénierie spécifique.

Develop and align Grid Automation technology roadmaps with product roadmaps.
Translate technology strategy into Design Authority guidelines to align product/platform design.
Lead the evolution of technology roadmaps.
Issue CTO Requirement Documents (CRD) for major NPI programs.
Conduct formal assessments of product designs for alignment with technology strategy and issue approvals or change orders.
Select key technologies and components to standardize (CPUs, software libraries, open-source components, etc.).
Drive portfolio-wide capabilities and feature design for product line consistency (e.g., software licensing, UI/UX, interoperability).
Stay connected with technology trends and industry evolution to drive solutions differentiation.
Maintain design authority oversight of product platforms and software architectures.
Collaborate closely with product management teams to ensure the technology roadmap aligns with product and business strategy.
Provide technical guidance for NPIs (New Products Introduction), including presiding over and approving technical review gates.
Identify and mitigate technical business risks (cybersecurity, technology, standards).
Assess R&D team competencies and drive measures to address gaps to achieve business goals.
Lead the formulation and dissemination of lessons learned and best practices across the R&D teams.
Utilize experience and knowledge to help solve technical problems across Grid Automation products.
Promote initiatives related to design quality and reliability.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and pipeline development for Consulting and Principal Engineers.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Science or equivalent.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in a technical product development capacity.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architect.
Ability to interface effectively with all functions and levels of a global organization.
Legal authorization to work in Canada, with employment contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment verification.
Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate and evangelize a vision and negotiate effectively.
Desired Characteristics: Understanding of the power Grid Protection, Control, and Automation domain.
Prior experience developing industrial controls for power systems.
Broad technical experience and deep expertise in a specific engineering discipline.
