Job summary St Margaret's Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Philanthropy Manager (Trusts and Major Giving).
This is a permanent, full time role with a current salary of £34,142 per annum.
Joining our exceptional team of fundraisers and communication professionals, you will play a key role in engaging with funders and supporters who are passionate about safeguarding hospice care for the local community.
You will steward our existing brilliant supporters, raise awareness of the hospices work, and generate vital funds for our clinical services The role can be based in either our Taunton or Yeovil office, depending on preference.
We also offer hybrid working so that you can work some of your days from home.

Main duties of the job As our Philanthropy Manager, you'll take the lead in developing a compelling case for support.
By telling the hospice's story and articulating our new five-year strategic plan, you will help to secure five and six figure multi-year funding.
Your day-to-day work will include: Managing grant funders.Cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals.Maximising existing relationships and giving potential across our high value income streams, namely Trusts, Foundations and Major Donors.Researching opportunities and securing new funding.

Prepare and provide timely reports and information as and when required.Work with the Head of Fundraising to develop annual income and expenditure budgets, as well as quarterly reforecasts, monitoring income and expenditure against budget.
Identifying any variances and putting in place plans to rectify when targets are not met.Major Gift fundraisingWork with the Head of Fundraising to tailor donor journeys and focus on the life-time value of all supporters, including robust cultivation and stewardship products for major donors.Support the stewardship of the hospices existing pool of major donors, overseeing the communications schedule and facilitating appropriate relationship building with key stakeholders across the organisation.Work collaboratively to research and identify new prospects for the major gift pipeline, while developing appropriate cultivation plans for each individual.Work closely with the Supporter Experience Team to identify and convert supporters, including midlevel donors, into a Major Gift programme, ensuring a seamless donor journey, which puts the needs of the supporter at the heart of decision making.Work closely with the Supporter Development Fundraiser, to build legacy messaging into supporter journeys and try to convert Major Donors into Legacy Pledgers.Oversee the management and running of major donor and solicitation events throughout the year.Contribute to the development of compelling and tailored funding propositions and cases for support.Trusts & FoundationsManage the Trusts & Foundations portfolio, overseeing existing funder relationships to generate multi-year funding partnerships and meet annual grant income targets.Ensure grant reporting and contractual conditions are met, resulting in on-going support or repeat funding opportunities.Ensure that monitoring and evaluation of projects and funding partnerships is delivered.Lead on research and identification of new and suitable prospects and manage the pipeline so applications are researched and submitted on time, and no opportunities are missed.Work collaboratively with colleagues across the hospice to develop a range of compelling funding propositions, ensuring that all proposals are tailored and built around an engaging and robust case for support.Additional ResponsibilitiesSupport delivery of the Hospices income generation strategy, which feeds into the wider Hospice strategic framework.Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks including, but not limited to Data Protection, Chartered Institute of Fundraising and Fundraising Regulator Codes.Network and develop relationships externally on behalf of the charity, working closely with colleagues across the Hospice to maximise opportunities for income generation and to ensure all activities achieve optimum success.Embrace innovations in digital fundraising and apply across the income streams as appropriate.Undertake all necessary administration and record keeping ensuring all funder correspondence and communications are recorded on the fundraising database.Travel between offices and to other locations as required.Attend and support events, some of which may take place outside of standard office hours.
Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential Specialist knowledge of Trusts and Major Donor Fundraising Desirable Member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CIoF) Self Awareness Essential Highly organised with the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
Plans and organises and prioritises own time.
Ability to identify priorities and work to deadlines.
To have a 'can do approach' and be enthusiastic; self-motivated; good organiser.
Commitment to the values of the Hospice.
Working with others Essential Proven ability to build relationships with prospective donors and supporters.
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.

Outcome and Results Essential Experience of successfully obtaining funds from trusts or similar bodies including ability to develop impactful propositions, cases for support, developing highly personalised relationships utilising a range of techniques face to face, telephone, written.
Knowledge and understanding of budgets, ability to develop and manage income and expenditure budgets.
Evidence or producing content and materials to support fundraising activities.
Desirable Experience of securing funds from statutory sources.
Leading in your area Essential High level analytical skills.
Experience of developing operating plans and inputting to strategy.
Knowledge and understanding of Charity Law and regulations governing fundraising eg.
Fundraising Regulator Codes of Practice.
Ability to undertake detailed research of appropriate trusts and funding bodies and individuals.
Ability to develop impactful and attractive products and propositions.
Experience of working with CRM databases and demonstrable working knowledge on Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable Ability to plan and host successful small events/receptions.
Working knowledge of Beacon CRM.
Experienced in wealth screening and nurturing high net worth individuals
