Clinical Governance Co-Ordinator

Job summary Thisis an exciting opportunity to support the Pathology Clinical Support Unit withits governance activities, as well as playing a key part in driving forwardsthe service improvement programme through collaborative working with individualspecialities.TheLeeds Teaching Hospitals Pathology service is part of the WYAAT regionalnetwork (West Yorkshire Association of Acute Hospital Trusts).
We will delivercentralised regional testing services using state of the art analyticaltechnology, provided as part of a new managed service contract and a newlaboratory information management system to support fully integrated workflows.Thesuccessful candidate will work closely with the Quality Lead and a team ofQuality Managers to continue to embed our new electronic quality managementsystem.
They will develop advanced skills in leadership, quality management andservice improvement, using their expertise to help shape the future design andday to day delivery of cutting-edge services.
Main duties of the job Youwill be a dedicated individual committed to continuously improving andmonitoring service quality for the benefit of our patients and engaging othersin doing so.
Keyduties will include working closely with the Quality Lead and a strong team ofQuality Managers to: Provide training and guidance todepartmental teams on the use of service improvement techniques, helping toembed the Leeds Improvement Method across all services Co-plan and implement improvements toquality systems and processes Deliver quality management systemtraining to department leadership teams Coordinate change controls inrelation to changes spanning multiple departments Provide system administration of theCSU electronic quality management system (Q-Pulse) Support the Quality Lead in preparingreports and presentations for Quality and Governance Forums Co-design policies and proceduresrelating to quality systems and processes including compliance monitoringmechanisms Represent the CSU at TrustQuality/Governance forums About us TheLeeds Teaching Hospitals Pathology service is part of the WYAAT regionalnetwork (West Yorkshire Association of Acute Hospital Trusts).

Job description Job responsibilities Thepost holder is responsible for supporting the CSU Quality Lead to facilitate the ongoing accreditation anddevelopment of the quality systems within Pathology.
The post holder will assist the Quality Leadin the development and maintenance of a quality and service improvementprogramme across all specialities within the CSU.
Thepost holder will assist and support the senior team in ensuring the delivery ofCSU wide compliance with statutory, mandatory and national clinical governancestandards and support the team to ensure good clinical governance practiceacross the services.Thepost holder will co-ordinate multi-speciality meetings, activities with otherprofessions and agencies.
The post holder will be able to initiate the planningand coordination of these activities.
The post holder will be able to manage anumber of these complex activities at any time on a daily basis.Thepost holder will attend meetings and provide administrative support to CSUcolleagues as required, for example during Peer Review.
Thepost holder will also be involved in the development and maintenance of auditschedules, monthly reports, serviceimprovements and root cause analysis where needed within the CSU.Qualitysystem(s) and/or projects will be allocated to the post holder who will beresponsible for ensuring day to day management and updating of the qualitysystems.
The post holder will beexpected to attain basic knowledge of all areas and discuss and highlightincidents as they occur.Thepost holder will collate information for the CSU Governance and other quality meetings across theCSU.
The post holder will attendmeetings, take minutes and liaise with staff to ensure that actions arecompleted.Thepost holder will support the quality team education program, booking rooms,updating calendars and spreadsheets and preparing materials for quality forum meetings.
Thepost holder will collate the complaints for the CSU and ensure accurate and upto date records and tracking logs are maintained as well as assisting themanagers with completing responses.
Thepost holder will track all investigations via a dashboard and upload actionlogs to DATIX.Thepost holder will support the CSU leadership teams in undertaking Patient SafetyIncident Response Framework Investigations.
Thepost holder will support the quality administrator team within the CSU with quality managementsystem alignment work and training in quality systems and processes.
Thepost holder will be required to travel and work across hospital sites withinthe Trust.
Qualifications essential criteria Educated to degree level or above (orequivalent experience).
Advanced keyboard skills and ECDL orequivalent level of knowledge for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Qualifications desirable Service Improvement Certification (oractively working towards).
