Job Title: Activity Co-ordinator Salary *: 12.77ph Hours: Full-time Location: Sleaford, NG34 9PL Employer: St Andrew's Nursing and Care Home, owned by Jasmine Healthcare Are you looking for a care environment where you can thrive? Consequently, Jasmine offers the following to those that perform this valuable role: Salary - We pay top quartile market salaries Pay Rises - Annual Performance related pay increases of up to 8% in addition to any cost of living increase Holiday - 28 Days including Bank Holidays Pension - We encourage everyone to sign-up for our NEST Pension Scheme, which we contribute 3% of salary to Bonusly Points - These are exchangeable for various vouchers or cash (with all tax paid by Jasmine) via PayPal, and are earned by obtaining recognition from your colleagues, good mandatory training, good attendance, and various other ways you contribute positively to the team and our residents' lives Training - All relevant qualifications are fully funded to help you progress, and we will reward you with a financial bonus of up to £500 Refer a friend incentive - Up to £1,000 for referring a suitable team member Meals - Enjoy low-cost meals at just £1 per course while on shift Short Notice shift incentives Employee Assistance Programme - Access to free counselling and valuable well-being advice 24/7 DBS check - We pay for this Uniform - We provide as many uniforms as you require (subject to fair use policy) Team Members under 21 will be paid at £1.00 per hour less, which is significantly above National Minimum Wage guidelines for this age group A little about St Andrew's Nursing and Care Home: St Andrew's is located in the lovely village of Ewerby (5 miles to the East of Sleaford). The home is set around a lovely old vicarage, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation. The home provides personal care, including nursing and dementia care, for 42 residents.
Competencies for Activity Co-ordinator: Plan and organise activities Good time management Excellent interpersonal skills Creative and enthusiastic To be an Ambassador for the Company both inside and outside of the home Day to Day Responsibilities for Activity Co-ordinator: Contribute to our residents' well-being through thoughtful, personalised activities and have a weekly plan ready each Monday to bring joy to our residents' lives.
Join our community of Activities Co-Ordinator's at Jasmine to share successful ideas and activities.
Provide support for our residents facing confusion or behavioural challenges by employing effective person-centred distraction techniques and activity baskets and offer one-to-one comfort and companionship for residents unable to participate in activities, documenting interactions in their notes.
Ensure the activity calendar is uploaded to Facebook each week and is also visible around the home.
Post interesting activities on the Homes' Facebook page.
To keep up to date of new developments in both activities and care by identifying and attending activities meetings and ensure our monthly Newsletter is completed and is displayed around the home and posted onto our Facebook page.
To encourage and involve team members, relatives and friends in the home's activities by sending communication emails to the team, relatives and friends and act as an Ambassador for the home, including Fund Raising so that our residents can enjoy additional social events.
All Fundraising is matched £ to £ by Jasmine to support this.
Essential Requirements for Activity Co-ordinator : At least one years' relevant experience providing activities in a care home or similar environment (e.g.
teaching assistant, nursery nurse, LD/supported living care assistant) OR 3 years experience as a care assistant in an elderly residential or nursing home.
NVQ Level 2 In Health & Social Care; or be willing to sign up to work towards.
Must be able to work 35 hours minimum per week including 2 weekend days every four weeks.
Live within 20 minutes of the Home Preferred Requirements for Activity Co-ordinator : Two years' relevant experience providing activities in a residential or nursing home.
