This job will be a job share.A rare opportunity has arisen for a creative, driven and organised individual to substantially contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients and staff in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde through the provision of a vibrant volunteering service.You will be: Responsible for promoting, recruiting, training, coordinating and supporting hundreds of volunteers in the North Sector (Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Lightburn, and Stobhill Hospitals).Joining the Volunteering Service at an exciting time as we consider how best to build on our offer so we maximise the potential of volunteering to add value to patient and staff experience in the North Sector.The Volunteering Service is managed by the Spiritual Care and Volunteer Service Manager and is managed within the Board Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional (NMAHP) Directorate.The role is primarily based at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, with frequent requirement to travel across the board area as necessary.What you'll do:The main duties of the role comprise but are not restricted to:Lead and manage volunteering across the North Acute Sector of NHSGGCAttract, inspire and resource suitable candidates for volunteering positions within NHSGGCLead and deliver on the continuous development of volunteering in relation to involvement of individuals who directly offer voluntary support to the organisationIdentify and develop, with relevant stakeholders, a range of initiatives deemed suitable for volunteer involvementContinuous liaison with key members of staff (e.g.
Lead Nurses, Heads of Department, Senior Charge Nurses) to position volunteers in areas that will ensure they are provided with relevant and meaningful duties, ensuring any issues are addressed and resolved in a timely mannerBe an active and constructive participant in development of the Volunteering Service as a whole for NHSGGC.Ad hoc support for the Spiritual Care and Volunteer Service as required.What you'll bringThese will include but are not restricted to:Qualified to graduate level in a relevant discipline.
Certificate in Volunteer Management (where possible).
This is a bespoke certificate that relates to and underpins best practice in Volunteer Management.
Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with volunteers and senior colleagues.High degree of organisational ability, together with excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to handle and prioritise a diverse workload.Proficient in use of Microsoft Office packages.
i.e Microsoft Word/ Outlook, Excel.Excellent networking and influencing skills.Ability to deal with enquiries in a professional and courteous mannerAbility to work under pressure and without close supervisionFlexible attitude to work in general.
