Job Description

We're recruiting a Quality Engineer for a household name in the Pumps and Rotating Machinery sector.


Location:

  • Southampton


Package:

  • £50,000+ (Higher for More Experience)
  • 10% Bonus
  • 9% Pension (4% Employee / 5% Employer)
  • Private Healthcare


The Quality Engineer is responsible for Quality and Continuous Improvement within the Southampton service centre; providing leadership in quality procedures, and improve and promote the quality culture.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for management, implementation, and monitoring of quality requirements, customer requirements, and third-party audit requirements (e.g. Supplier Quality Management, Customer Feedback, Non-Conformance Management)


  • Raise and assess quality non-conformance issues, and work with the service centre management team to facilitate root cause analysis investigations and implement preventative and corrective actions


  • Analyse non-conformance and root cause trends, implement improvements to reduce cost of poor quality and increase customer satisfaction


  • Responsible for LEAN and continuous improvement projects; working alongside the service centre management team to implement continuous improvement initiatives


  • Own the internal audit program and support external audits for the service centre; analysing results for focused improvement activities


  • Assist in the management of supplier conformance and adherence to relevant KPI targets


  • Provide required quality support where needed to support sales and tendering processes, including pre-qualification documents


  • Ensure compliance and adherence to project quality documentation throughout a project


  • Proactively engage and support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection and continual improvement of the management systems, including documented information such as standard operating procedures.


Qualification / Experience Requirements:


  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering or relevant industry experience.


  • Experience in adherence to ISO9001


  • Experience with Pumps or other Rotating Equipment standards


  • Appreciation and knowledge of materials and product repair procedures
