About the role


The Risk Officer will contribute significantly to the management of the XBTO’s Risk Framework by

  • Coordinating and enhancing risk identification and assessment frameworks
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations
  • Risk Identification: collaboratively work across the group to identify risk, primarily within operations, cyber and regulatory
  • Preparation of clear, accurate documentation and related summaries
  • Keep up to date with business, regulatory and market developments
  • Ensure alignment with risk appetite statement
  • Contribute to the fostering of strong risk culture across XBTO
  • Preparation of board material risk committee material



Competencies Required


  • Advanced understanding of enterprise risk management, preferably from both traditional finance and fintech/crypto start-ups.
  • Team player able to work collaboratively across multiple teams and time zones
  • Proven track record in assessing internal and external risk trends and articulating impact on key deliverables
  • Competent with G-suite and MS Office
  • Strong risk culture and ability to demonstrate risk awareness
  • Ability to form effective relationships across all levels of management, to collaborate with influence and engage stakeholders
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and bringing alternative views to the table
  • Resilient and tenacious
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong ability to work independently, to manage priorities, and to apply project management methodology
