The Cyber Security Lead at IC24 will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organisation's digital assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information systems.
Working within the IT Infrastructure Team, this role will be responsible for both managing and actively participating in the organisation's cyber security initiatives. This includes leading a team in monitoring, analysing, and responding to security incidents, as well as developing and implementing security measures to protect against potential threats.
The post holder will adopt a balanced approach, dedicating 50% of their time to hands-on tasks such as configuring and maintaining security controls on IT assets such as servers, endpoints, infrastructure, and network components. The remaining 50% will be focused on managerial duties, ensuring that best practices are followed, and security policies are enforced throughout the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership and Strategy Development:
Lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s cyber security strategy.
Provide guidance and mentorship to the cyber security team.
Collaborate with senior management to align security initiatives with business objectives.
Incident Management:
Oversee the monitoring, analysis, and response to security incidents.
Coordinate incident response efforts, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
Conduct post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and improve processes.
Security Operations:
Manage and participate in the configuration and maintenance of security controls on IT assets such as servers, endpoints, infrastructure, and network components.
Ensure that security tools and technologies are effectively utilised and integrated into the overall security architecture.
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans, and oversee remediation efforts.
Policy and Compliance:
Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Conduct security awareness training and promote a culture of security within the organisation.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Conduct risk assessments and manage the risk register.
Report on the organisation’s security posture to senior management and stakeholders.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
~ Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to security and alignment with our Data Security & Protection governance activities and requirements.
Innovation and Improvement:
Stay current with emerging security trends, threats, and technologies.
Continuously improve the organisation’s security posture through the adoption of new tools and practices.
Lead security projects and initiatives to enhance the overall security framework
