Role Overview:


In this role you will develop current and future vehicle programs and simulation methodologies, performing CFD setup, analysis and correlation of aeroacoustic simulations. You will work on several aspects of the car, both internally and externally, at component, system and vehicle level, with the ultimate goal of optimising performance and improving the user experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Learning the current CFD capabilities and helping to develop new ones
  • Performing external and internal aeroacoustics CFD simulations and providing design recommendations throughout the design phase to progress vehicle programs
  • Presenting CFD results and recommendations to program teams globally
  • Correlating CFD results to acoustic wind tunnel data on prototype and production vehicles
  • Attending acoustic wind tunnel tests in China where required to assist with correlation or program development
  • Maintaining and developing procedures for performing various analytical wind noise processes
  • Providing support to other CFD areas where required


Qualifications / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, in Aeroacoustics, CFD, Aerospace or Aerodynamics
  • Experience of CFD within industry. Higher experience levels are welcome and will be recognized
  • Hands-on experience of Simulia PowerFLOW and ANSA preferred
  • Ability to understand and/or write Python code beneficial

A knowledge of and enthusiasm for (or belief in) the sector of the industry in which NIO operates

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • The ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in all aspects of work
