About the Role

Oxford Thermofluids Institute is seeking a Research Assistant to design and simulate activities pertaining to novel nuclear reactors.

This role involves significant computer-based design and simulation. The successful candidate will be an expert in the use of CAD programs (i.e., SOLIDWORKS/AutoCAD), design for manufacture techniques, and computational fluid dynamics.

The position requires a PhD/DPhil in Engineering with a focus on Thermofluids simulation and experimentation, or near completion of doctoral studies.

Job Description:

  • Design and simulate novel nuclear reactor concepts using CAD software.
  • Develop expertise in computational fluid dynamics and design for manufacture techniques.
  • Collaborate with researchers to optimize reactor performance.
