We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the Mitotic Progression group at the University of Oxford. The team, headed by Prof Ulrike Gruneberg, studies the mechanisms safeguarding mammalian genome stability during cell division in the context of cancer.

This is a fixed-term appointment available for 1 year. We are looking for an individual with a BSc/MSc degree in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology and a demonstrable interest or experience in the cell cycle or chromosome biology field. Previous experience with genetic manipulation of mammalian cells and the generation of stable cell lines is essential.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. They will also be expected to contribute to research projects and assist in the development of new techniques.

The estimated salary for this position is approximately £28,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
