Director of Technology, Digital and Data

We are currently recruiting a Director of Technology, Digital and Data to join the Leadership Team whose purpose is to lead a high performing organisation and develop a culture which enables and drives the Technology, Digital and Data Strategy enhancing our customer experience and facilitating our colleagues in their roles. This role will be the guardian of the Technology, Digital and Data Strategy ensuring its effective design, delivery and implementation which will in turn underpin the delivery of our strategic plan/corporate commitments.

The Director of Technology, Digital and Data will play a critical role in driving forward the Groups’ ambitions for growth, innovation, financial capacity and a positive culture. Delivering excellence in leadership, creating a high support, high challenge environment where colleagues are inspired, enabled and empowered to do their best work and deliver on the organisation’s purpose.

We are looking for an individual educated to degree level with substantial experience of successfully developing and delivering an IT and Digital strategy with positive outcomes. The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of complex technology environments and extensive experience in dealing with and advising on complex Data and Technology matters.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Services, this role will provide high quality Technology, Digital and Data services which are agile and commercial in nature whilst embodying our social purpose, values, and behaviours. These services will include:

Data Operations

Data policy, Data integrity, Innovation, System enhancement, Data led decision making, Data tools, Data assurance, Automation.

Technology Development

Technology Strategy, Cyber security, Infrastructure, Operating platforms, Innovation, Service development, Smart technology, Artificial Intelligence, Automation.

Digital Development

Digital Strategy, Customer digital, Colleague digital development, Automation, Business tools.

Key responsibilities

Specific objectives and deliverables will be agreed with the management team, the points below are a summary of the main responsibilities and accountabilities.

Strategic Leadership and Corporate Citizenship

Leading on the design, implementation and monitoring of the IT & Digital Strategy;

Working in partnership with the wider leadership team to ensure individual strategies are aligned to those of other teams, removing silos and ensuring the Group delivers on its purpose;

Providing assurance to the Board and other stakeholders that the Group’s Technology, Digital and Data services are well managed, effective and efficient;

Creating a high support, high challenge environment for colleagues where they feel empowered to deliver their best for our customers;

Leading on the implementation of the operational and business plans flowing from the IT & Digital Strategy ensuring alignment with established risk management, budget and business planning processes;

Developing effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to enable a progressive environment which supports growth, creativity, agility and innovation;
