Initially based at head office (Tadley) and then moving over to the project team. (based at a Defence contractor site in Burghfield).

Operate the document control process proper for each category and classification of document/ drawing to ensure effective creation, control, management, recovery and change revision control.

To produce reports about the various document control inboxes.

Conduct routine document control activities for the company, including document release and publishing, query handling, management of transmittals, copying, scanning and library management. All in line with the Document Distribution Matrix (DDM)

Provide support with regard to document numbering, the application of metadata, and ability to work with Document Management Systems (DMS) and on the document control procedures to be followed.

Maintenance and checking for accuracy of existing document records.

Support to departments in the issue receipt and tracking of all documentation both electronically and in hardcopy where applicable.

Ability to prove a proven history of document control experience technical knowledge of Document Management Systems (DMS).

Understanding of British Standards and legislation.

Understanding of government legislation in relation to data protection and copyright law.

Experienced user of MS office computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, to ensure documents are checked over and they reach all required standards.

Be responsible for file validation and document controlling prior to documents being given.

Ensure the 'chain of evidence' for all submissions is correctly supported and documented in line with all compliance requirements.

Skills and Experience:

* Required previous experience in similar role

* Strong Organisational Skills

* Attention to detail

* Understanding of electronic file production and retention

* Working knowledge of electronic file management

* Familiarity and capability to work on database, technical documents and drawings is essential

* Experience with file transfer portals

* Good knowledge of Microsoft office packages including Word and Excel.

Security clearance & safety critical medical:

Due to the nature of work undertaken, incumbents of this position must meet special nationality rules and therefore this vacancy is only open to sole British Nationals.

Applicants who meet the criteria will also have to undergo security clearance vetting upon starting in the role.

If not, already security cleared to a minimum SC level. (You can start whilst the security application is 'in-progress')
