High-Voltage Engineer Specialist

This role requires an experienced Electrical Engineer to work with our Facility Engineering team in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering professional engineering services across our plant and equipment, focusing on electrical building services and associated plant.
The ideal candidate will have a good awareness of relevant legislation, supporting ACOP, best practice, and common industry standards. Experience within the higher hazard / regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, petro-chem, pharma etc.) is also desirable.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £37,860 - £52,000 per annum, depending on experience plus allowances. In addition, we offer a market leading contributory pension scheme, 9-day working fortnight, 208 hours of holiday each year (equal to at least 25 days leave) plus Bank Holidays, and various family friendly policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional engineering services across our plant and equipment, focusing on electrical building services and associated plant.
- Apply expertise in delivering engineered solutions during the operational lifecycle phase.
- Identify and escalate business risk or opportunities arising from the condition of engineered systems and structures.
- Take ownership of engineering issues or opportunities, planning, managing, and collaborating to deliver sound, safe solutions.
- Provide advice, guidance, progress reports, and supporting documentation to stakeholders.
- Adhere to Company Management System requirements, relevant Technical Standards & Legislation, and business controls.
- Apply Maintenance & Reliability Principles and contribute to Key Performance Indicators and other reporting as required.
Requirements
- A degree in an engineering discipline.
- Good awareness of relevant legislation, supporting ACOP, best practice, and common industry standards.
- Experience within the higher hazard / regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, petro-chem, pharma etc.).
- Membership of an engineering institution and/or Incorporated Engineer or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an installer or maintainer beneficial.
