Applying image processing for microdroplet technologies
This Cambridge based scientific instrumentation company are recruiting a Physicist to provide expertise in imaging for their drug discovery applications. Projects include their next generation advanced imaging and associated data analytics, and you would work closely with scientists and software developers. Key responsibilities include: design and development of novel algorithms for 2D imaging and numerical data analyses for microscope-based signal detection; converting niche scientific requirements around cell based interactions into software.
Requirements:
* Degree in Applied Physics, Maths or Computer Science and PhD (or equivalent experience), followed by relevant project (academic or industry) experience.
* Demonstrable experience of 2D image processing applied to microdroplet based technologies (using ML / AI methods).
* Experience in developing complex algorithms (ideally using Python).
* An understanding of cell-based analytics would be beneficial.
Senior physicists with team leadership experience will also be considered as long as they also have the prerequisite technical skills.
The role is based mostly onsite with occasional home-working (up to 1 day a week) when projects allow. Interested candidates should therefore be based close to Cambridge or be willing to relocate to be close to Cambridge.
