An exciting opportunity is available for a Quality Lead to join a growing start-up. With state-of-the-art facilities and a robust pipeline of upcoming projects, this role offers the chance to contribute to innovative research and development.

The Role

Collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team and R&D Leads, this role is responsible for leading the quality function to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will develop comprehensive quality frameworks, ensure adherence to SOPs and best practices across the site, and define strategies for the long-term growth of QA and QC functions. The position includes management responsibilities.

Responsibilities 

Key responsibilities include:

Developing and implementing quality management systems aligned with industry standards

Leading and mentoring the quality team

Identifying and executing process improvements

Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations

Preparing and presenting reports

Providing strategic leadership for quality processes

Setting team goals and KPIs,

Conducting internal audits and managing external audits from regulatory bodies or customers.
Other tasks include:

Overseeing QC analytics for product release, achieving and maintaining certifications (e.g., ISO/FSSC), and

Establishing the QMS at Ivy Farm while staying informed about global regulatory changes related to cultivated meat and food safety.
Experience Requirements:

Essential:

BSc/MSc/PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, or related field

Previous experience in a QA/QC leadership role

Experience leading customer or regulatory audits

Proven track record in managing and implementing quality management systems

Familiarity with food quality standards like HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001
Desirable:

Regulatory experience, particularly Novel Foods
£55K - £57K
