Using person-centered and therapeutic approaches, the service emphasizes the development of life skills, emotional resilience, and meaningful relationships.

Your Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and growth of the young adults in your care. Acting as a positive role model, you will provide practical and emotional support while promoting independence and advocating for their individual needs.

Your Responsibilities

Supporting Young Adults:

* Safeguard and promote the well-being of young adults, ensuring a safe and nurturing living environment.

* Build trusting relationships and serve as a supportive point of contact.

* Advocate for their healthcare, educational, and emotional needs.

* Help them develop life skills, including budgeting, cooking, and decision-making, to prepare for independent living.

* Support them in accessing community-based activities, employment opportunities, and education or training programs.

* Recognize risks of harm or exploitation, implementing strategies to mitigate them.

* Encourage positive behavior and set clear, respectful boundaries.

Professional Standards:

* Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent care and support.

* Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality.

* Stay informed about care plans and supported living regulations.

* Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including social workers, healthcare professionals, and families.

* Engage in professional development, including completing relevant qualifications.

* Contribute to service improvement and team development.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.

* Previous experience (paid or unpaid) supporting young adults or vulnerable individuals.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic approach.

* Basic knowledge of safeguarding, supported living regulations, and care planning.

* Honest, reliable, and able to work under pressure.

* Strong written and IT skills for accurate record-keeping.

* A willingness to develop professionally and undertake relevant training.

* Ability to connect with young adults with emotional or behavioral challenges.
