Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Hardware Design

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to work in our aerospace Advanced Technology Organisation (ATO) at GE Aviation. The successful candidate will be expected to define the hardware scope and functionality of our new products, work with the project team through the concept development and prototype design phases, and support transition into production, applying theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design prototype product hardware architecture in collaboration with the systems, software, mechanical and tools teams.
  • Develop a deep understanding of aircraft electrical power and avionics systems, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Work with our customers to develop concepts for their new aircraft.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality, cost-effective new products.
  • Support the safe demonstration, testing and verification of engineering prototypes in the advanced technology labs and further afield in customer labs.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering or science subject.
  • Desirable - Master's or PhD in relevant subject.
  • Experience working as an Electrical/Electronic Engineer in the aerospace, automotive or industrial sectors.
  • Good understanding of electrical power systems, vehicle systems or display systems.
