Director of Professional Services Role Summary

The Royal Statistical Society is seeking an experienced leader to join our team as Director of Professional Services. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for overseeing our professional affairs activities, including the creation, maintenance, and application of relevant standards through our professional affairs committee, and certification and accreditation schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for membership recruitment, management, engagement, retention, and professional affairs that support the organisation's objectives and foster a sense of value and community for all members.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of fully costed programme plans for member recruitment, management, engagement, and retention that align with key strategic goals.
  • Manage programmes of benefits, products, and services that meet the needs of members and attract non-members.
  • Monitor and report on progress and performance against targets and plans.
  • Manage projects, ensuring that quality work is delivered on time, and work with colleagues to identify and develop promotion, sponsorship, and other funding opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Senior leadership experience.
  • Significant experience developing strategies and plans, preferably within a membership organisation.
  • Experience using data and evidence to develop value propositions and align services with needs.
  • Significant experience of programme and project management and operational delivery.
