Clinical Scientist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our team at NHS Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive range of highly specialized phenotypic and molecular techniques for use with the Scottish Microbiology Reference Laboratory (SMiRL), Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the quality control of the laboratory's phenotypic and molecular methods
- Develop and deliver specialized techniques for use with SMiRL
- Contribute to molecular development projects within the department, including the use of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)
- Prepare and report reference laboratory results and other reports on a regular basis
- Contribute to clinical audit, applied research, and training of medical, scientific, and technical staff
Requirements:
- Upper second or first-class Honours degree in a relevant science
- Masters Degree (MSc) in a relevant field or equivalent qualification
- Completion of the nationally accredited STP scientist training scheme (3 years) or equivalent
- Health and Care Professions Council Registration as a Clinical Scientist
