Audit & Accounts Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit & Accounts Manager to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd. As a leading accountancy recruitment agency, we specialize in placing talented accounting professionals in top accounting firms across the UK.

Job Purpose
  • Undertake audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with current legislation and regulations.
  • Allocate audit work in the field and the office, delegating tasks to team members and mentoring their development.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, tax computations, and other financial documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Deliver commercial awareness and business acumen, identifying opportunities for fee development and growth.
  • Present work to Partners, completing files to a high standard and meeting deadlines.
  • Underpin audit and accounts matters with current legislation and compliance, ensuring the firm's reputation is upheld.
  • Delegate work to, and mentor an audit team, supporting their learning and development.
  • Set an example for the team as a natural leader, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Represent the firm at networking opportunities, supporting the provision of marketing and sales services.

The Successful Applicant
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with demonstrable accountancy practice experience.
  • Strong knowledge of audit and general accounting, with a focus on compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing a team of accountants, with a proven track record of leadership and mentorship.
  • Excellent work ethic, with a self-motivated and reliable approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Good awareness of current affairs, with a commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • A can-do attitude and proactive problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
