Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Premier Group Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Tamworth. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering turnkey automation systems for a specialist manufacturer of special purpose machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, and Creo.
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure timely and cost-effective production.
  • Contribute to the final assembly of products and ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Develop and maintain technical drawings, project reports, and plans.
  • Update 3D models and drawings to reflect design changes and improvements.
  • Input parts into the MRP system and create Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Verify drawings for sign-off and ensure that all design documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Collaborate with a small multi-disciplinary team to deliver projects on time and to budget.

Requirements:

  • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar design engineering or CAD operation position.
  • Previous experience in the design and delivery of turnkey automation systems.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
