Job Summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Domestic Assistant. As a key member of our household support team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and assisting our care staff in providing exceptional support to individuals with personal care needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the establishment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Assist care staff with personal care tasks, ensuring the dignity and well-being of our service users.
  • Contribute to the preparation and serving of meals and beverages, promoting a positive dining experience.
  • Work variable shift patterns, including weekends, evenings, and daytime shifts, to meet the needs of our service users.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, driving quality service delivery and excellence in all aspects of the role.
  • Support the team in covering sickness and annual leave, ensuring seamless service delivery.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including weekend and evening shifts.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding the dignity of our service users.
  • Willingness to undergo training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Regulatory Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
