Troup House School are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join their maintenance team. We are looking for a passionate handyperson and an enthusiastic DIYer, who will carry out reactive day-to-day maintenance issues within the site and their grounds. You will also assist in supporting our other homes in the community, liaising with contractors when on site and ad-hoc requests from management as and when necessary.

**The role**:

- Under direction, delivers an efficient and effective maintenance service to assist in the well-being, safety and comfort of patients, students and pupils.
- Provides a security service, maintaining the security and integrity of the building as well as the safety of its occupants.
- Maintains a well decorated, safe and comfortable environment throughout the unit, in line with quality standards, and follows work processes which comply with statutory regulations.
- Identifies and reports damage, faults and other related issues to line manager (and then actions as agreed) to ensure that environmental conditions continue to meet quality standards and statutory regulations.
- Undertakes regular internal and external patrols of the unit and its grounds, ensuring that all the windows and doors are closed and locked as appropriate to the time of day.
- Deals with any potential acts of disturbance, vandalism or theft within the grounds, reporting these and any other untoward or suspicious incidents to the manager in charge.
- Maintains an accurate record of all incidents and suspicious activities within a logbook.
