The Swansea Bay Acute Clinical Team is a dynamic, nurse-led service supported by consultant geriatricians, providing hospital-based treatment in the patient's home. The team operates two hubs, one based at Bonymaen Clinic and the other at Cimla Health and Social Care Centre, covering vast geographical areas.
Main Responsibilities- Recognize and assess acutely unwell adult patients
- Communicate precise details of clinical presentation with advanced clinical practitioners to commence treatment plans
- Administer intravenous medication and monitor its effectiveness
- Perform phlebotomy and intravenous cannulation
- Recognize anaphylaxis and cardiorespiratory arrest
- Collect microbiology samples and maintain high standards of documentation
- Mentor students while on placement
- Attend daily board rounds and contribute to discussions
- Hold a full UK driving license
- Have access to a vehicle for work purposes
- Be UK NMC registered
- Have experience working with adults in an acute setting
- Possess phlebotomy and intravenous cannulation skills
