Job Overview

The Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their Specialist Perinatal Service as a Practitioner Psychologist. This role will involve providing a specialized clinical psychology service to clients within the service, working autonomously in accordance with The British Psychological Society Code of Conduct, Ethical Principles and Guidelines 2004, and Health and Care Professions Council.

Main Duties of the Job

To provide a specialized clinical psychology service to clients within the Specialist Perinatal Service, working with clients across the lifespan and in a range of care settings. To exercise delegated responsibility for the management and supervision of assistant psychologists and the workload of trainees, within the framework of the team/service policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Essential criteria include a good honours degree in Psychology, a post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the British Psychological Society, and registration with HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist. Desirable criteria include knowledge of theory and practice of using specialized psychological therapies with a relevant population, experience of teaching/training others, and experience of supervision.
