About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with mental health disorders, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in adult psychiatry, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health disorders.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement mental health services, including inpatient and community-based services, to meet the needs of patients and the community.
  • Contribute to the development of mental health policy and strategy, including the development of service plans and budgets.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, social workers, and voluntary sector organizations, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Requirements
  • Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent.
  • Have a strong understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health.
  • Have experience of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have teaching and training experience, including the ability to teach and train postgraduate medical staff.
  • Have experience of initiating, progressing, and completing audit.
