About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with mental health disorders, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in adult psychiatry, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health disorders.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement mental health services, including inpatient and community-based services, to meet the needs of patients and the community.
  • Contribute to the development of mental health policy and strategy, including the development of new services and the improvement of existing ones.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, social workers, and voluntary sector organizations, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Requirements
  • Be medically qualified, with a specialist registration in adult psychiatry or equivalent.
  • Have a strong track record of clinical leadership and expertise in adult psychiatry.
  • Have experience of leading a multidisciplinary team and developing mental health services.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and improving mental health services.
