Energy Storage Engineering Role at Statkraft Varme AS

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Development Engineer - Energy Storage to join our team at Statkraft Varme AS. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of our Greener Grid Parks, focusing on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work with a global leader in renewable energy and contribute to decarbonizing the GB electricity system, increasing renewable energy use, and displacing fossil fuels to deliver Net Zero.

About the Role:
  • Manage Project Engineering activities including:
  • Lead resources for producing physical design and access layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with the GIS team to produce constraints mapping for initial design.
  • Oversee design documentation and conduct design risk assessments for each project.
  • Evaluate and review design reports and calculations from contractors.
  • Participate in the fire safety working group for BESS.
  • Support production of Employer's Requirements documents for contracts.
  • Produce and review single/key line diagrams for projects.
  • Contribute to project cost estimates and assess options for optimizing costs.
Requirements:
  • Masters/university degree in engineering or related field.
  • Contract technical drafting experience.
  • Experience with multi-million pound project delivery.
  • Interest in renewables and experience with battery energy storage systems.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to frame issues with context, analysis, recommendations, and risk/benefit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Estimated salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
