Engineering Leadership Opportunity

E3 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our client's team, a UK-based international PLC listed manufacturing organization. This senior-level appointment will oversee the leadership and strategic direction of company-wide engineering capital/capex improvement projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of project engineers/managers to develop and deliver capital investment projects on time and within budget. They will also oversee the day-to-day management of the capital application process, ensuring seamless integration with the company's overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a small team of project managers in developing and delivering capital projects across the business.
  • Provide overall project direction and support to allocated project managers on major projects.
  • Define capital project scopes and specifications, working closely with factory teams and project managers.
  • Resource allocation: prioritizing project management allocation, working with all stakeholders.
  • Financial management: tracking and reporting capital budgets, applications, approvals, and spends.
  • Develop and implement a project management process to ensure consistent delivery.
  • Work with the senior team to develop a long-term investment strategy, considering end-of-life asset replacement, de-bottlenecking, new technology adoption, innovative products, and factory expansion.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • HNC/HND or degree in an accredited engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil engineering).
  • Lean manufacturing experience or equivalent qualifications combined with CI tools and techniques (Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, 5S, Standard Work, Kaizen, Visual Management).
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and managing complex engineering capex projects, including CDM regulations.
  • Experience in developing and managing a team.
  • NEBOSH certification (desirable but training can be provided).
