Role Overview:

MLK Education Search is excited to support a unique, trauma-centred therapeutic group of schools in the UK seeking an experienced education leader to take on the role of Assistant Head Teacher. This position is ideal for a confident leader with successful experience in teaching and leading within a primary setting, particularly in supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with other leaders and teachers to ensure the quality of education and therapy meets high standards. Responsibilities include line managing teachers, developing strategies to implement effective practices, and contributing to staff briefings and training. The ideal candidate will be a first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff, and pupils, establishing positive working relationships with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. To collaborate with the executive principal to maintain consistently outstanding standards, aligning with ISS and Ofsted expectations.
  2. To lead the efficient organisation, timetabling, management, and supervision of the school and staff team.
  3. To contribute to weekly health and safety reviews, working collaboratively to resolve issues.
  4. To role-model exceptional professionalism and values, promoting pride, inspiration, and excitement among the group.
  5. To develop strategies to promote positive behaviour, aligned with the school's policy.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate should possess qualified teacher status or a relevant degree-level qualification. Previous leadership experience within a challenging context, as well as a strong grasp of the primary national curriculum, is essential. Recent CPD and Safer Recruitment training are also required.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £65,000, depending on experience. Benefits include up to 15 weeks of holiday, a private healthcare package, and opportunities for performance-linked progression.
