About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our office, manufacturing, and logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, servers, tablets, mobiles, printers, and specialized devices.
  • Complete the PC lifecycle management process, ensuring replacement machines are ready for users and retiring machines are processed to completion.
  • Support Identity and Access Management requests, including provisioning, de-provisioning, access validation, authentication, network share, and troubleshooting.
  • Handle UK Deskside Service Now Ticket Handling Queues to resolve end-user issues and requests.
  • Support local IT security compliance, including comms room set-up, maintenance, and access.
  • Maintain end-user system security by prioritizing vulnerability incidents/requests.
  • Proactively communicate and provide updates to users.
  • Support and delivery of Enterprise and Business Unit projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in a desktop IT support role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows OS and experience in the Office 365 suite of products, with a particular emphasis on Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, network routing, and Wireless connectivity.
  • Effective communicator of technical material to a non-technical audience at various levels.
  • Ability to establish and maintain high levels of client trust and confidence.
  • Desirous to engage in special projects to foster professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Microsoft certification, or related discipline.
  • Overview of Windows subsystems, including Certificate management, Device management, regionalisation, and Registry editor.
  • Experience in using Service Now for IT requests/incidents.
  • Knowledge of the following technologies: iOS, Android, Intune, Proxy systems, VPN, and Cloud computing technologies.
