About the Role

We are looking for a Consultant Neuroradiologist to contribute to the provision of a high-quality, consultant-led diagnostic neuroradiology imaging service. The successful candidate will be responsible for sharing in the 24/7 cover of the service, including on-call duties on a rota basis. Along with their consultant colleagues, they will provide clinical supervision and professional management of radiology trainees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the provision of a high-quality, consultant-led diagnostic neuroradiology imaging service
  • Share in the 24/7 cover of the service, including on-call duties on a rota basis
  • Provide clinical supervision and professional management of radiology trainees
  • Completed general training in Radiology and Diagnostic Neuroradiology at specialist level in a recognised centre
  • Experience and skills in a subspecialist area of neuroradiology and willingness to develop these aspects further
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and training
  • An appropriate level of leadership, organisational, communication, professional and personal abilities to be effective in the role of consultant diagnostic neuroradiologist in a large teaching hospital
Person Specification
  • Primary medical degree
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council with a valid license to practice
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register / Admission to the Register within 6 months of interview
  • Completed general training in Radiology, and training in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at specialist level in a recognised centre
  • Experience in advanced imaging techniques related to Neuroradiology
  • Experience with spinal injections
  • Evidence and ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients and colleagues (verbal and written communication skills in English)
  • Experience of teaching juniors, medical students and other healthcare professionals
