Job Title: Complementary Therapist Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Complementary Therapist Specialist to join our team at East Lancashire Hospice. As a specialist in complementary therapies, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their loved ones.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified therapist to provide complementary therapies to patients with life-limiting illnesses, including cancer.
  • You will be responsible for delivering tailored therapies, ensuring assessment incorporates risk management and consideration of contra-indications.
  • Maintain a clean and relaxing therapeutic environment, offer a calming presence, and establish professional boundaries with patients and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical team to deliver one-to-one and small group interventions across Inpatient, Outpatient settings, and Creative and Support Therapy attendees.

Requirements:

  • Qualified in at least two of the following - aromatherapy (level 3), massage (level 3), reflexology (Level 3) and/or reiki (Level 2).
  • A minimum of two years' professional experience delivering these therapies, with a focus on their therapeutic value for people with life-limiting illnesses.
  • Hold personal liability insurance and registration with the appropriate professional body.
  • Friendly, compassionate, non-judgmental, with excellent listening skills and able to deal with emotional distress.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, time management, and organisational skills.
