There is an exciting opportunity to recruit a Lead Advanced Clinical Practitioner for the Acute Directorate. This is a new post, which is to
provide outstanding leadership and managerial support for the 10 Acute Advanced Clinical Practitioner team.

The post holder will support the Head of Nursing and Clinical Director in delivering the Acute strategic framework supporting evidence based care that is well led, safe, effective and caring whilst having direct oversight and accountability of the ACP team.

We are looking for someone who has energy, drive and resilience with a clear desire to lead a team and develop the service further. It is a busy
and challenging role with multiple competing demands, which requires someone who can manage their own workload, whilst having a clear vision
of the development of the department and workforce. Excellent team working skills, along with good negation skills is required, with an ability to
support, encourage and motivate others.

You will be supported by the Head of Nursing with monthly 1-1s to enable progression of team and service development.

**Role**:
Provide leadership and managerial support for the Acute department Advanced clinical practitioner team.

Support the Head of Nursing and Clinical director with the objectives of continuous service development and strategic framework.

Attend and actively take part in divisional and organisational forums, supporting new and existing initiatives.

Provide highly specialised emergency care and leadership within the hospital setting, using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence based, acting as a role model to colleagues.

Function independently or within a clinical team and will demonstrate competence complementary to the MDT role in the delivery of health care.

Provide expert advice and to ensure the needs of the patient are met by leading, challenging and changing practice within the clinical setting.

To provide expert advice, support and direction to ensure holistic patient care for Emergency presentations in conjunction with the multi - disciplinary team over the 24-hour period.

Work closely with the Emergency Care Nursing and Medical Teams to support outstanding, evidence-based care delivery.

To provide the infrastructure that addresses the knowledge and skills deficits of the Advanced clinical practitioner team, including a clear strategic framework of how the pillars of advanced practice will be met and maintained.

The Acute Directorate has a great team, who work under some really challenging times with increased demand for service, and increased
pressures for capacity. The team is multi-disciplinary, where everyone wants to make a difference to patients and our colleagues. We are committed as a team to provide a working environment that is supportive, responsive and realistic with the pressures we face.

**Professional and Organisational Responsibilities**:
Possesses excellent leadership skills and be able to direct members of wider multidisciplinary team as appropriate.

Undertakes direct line manager responsibilities for the ACPs within the Emergency

Provides leadership and educational support for the Emergency

Provides clinical and leadership support for the junior medical teams, across the 24 hour period

As a senior member of the Trust wide nursing team, contributes to the vision for the clinical practice and direction for practical development.

Acts as an effective change agent. Anticipates and identifies new initiatives and priorities relevant to Emergency care and facilitates or lead change as appropriate.

Keep accurate records and compile reports as necessary

Maintain high professional standards of care and

Develops and supports protocols of care for patients in conjunctions with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Active involvement and responsibility for the formulating of Standard Operating Procedures to support existing and new practice.

Involvement in clinical governance within the

Maintain and extend professional knowledge and skills to keep up to date with current trends and practices

Be proactive in the accessing of inter-professional clinical supervision

Be involved in relevant professional groups to ensure up to date knowledge of role development

To adhere to professional Code of Professional Conduct at all times

Challenge professional/organisational boundaries with a view to improving care/health outcomes

Ensure effective use of physical and financial resources

Use physical and financial resources and technology effectively and in the best interests of the

Participate in the development of care pathways, protocols and clinical guidelines

Ongoing review and development of existing protocols relating to specialist nursing roles within the directorate

Liaise with appropriate departments within the Trust regarding the modification of traditional role boundaries, with a view to facilitating the ongoing development of the Advanced Practitioner role
