At Hunter Healthcare, we are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Developer Intern to join our team. As a key member of our informatics team, you will play a critical role in supporting the design, development, and maintenance of our data warehouse and Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
Key Responsibilities- Data Warehouse Development: Support the maintenance and development of our data warehouse, including the design and implementation of automated Data Extract, Transformation, and Load processes to meet new and changing requirements.
- Functional Specifications: Design functional specifications for development work based on customer consultation, using creative and problem-solving skills to support the changing information requirements of the trust.
- BI Solutions Development: Work with the wider informatics team to document workflow and design specifications of new BI solutions, including new data warehouse tables/views, visualizations, R, and Python development.
- Report Development: Develop and deploy pro forma and report templates to support efficient table and report design and development across the trust.
- Problem Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve problems in the production of routine and ad-hoc reports, ensuring all work is fully validated and quality assured prior to distribution.
- Data Validation: Undertake continued data validation and maintenance of the data warehouse, ensuring that any core system changes are communicated and implemented as appropriate.
- System Administration: System administration of Business Intelligence software, including monitoring of usage and compliance.
- Application Development: Development of applications (web and non-web) to support data capture.
- Training and Development: Produce and deliver comprehensive training material to develop and maintain a high level of skills and abilities across the team.
- Experience: Ideally demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Significant experience working and developing with Microsoft BI solutions (including SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
- ETL Experience: Experience of developing ETL routines, working with dimensional database design and management, and reporting solutions.
- Data Quality: Sound understanding of data quality management principles and best practices.
- Programming Skills: Experience of PowerBI, R, Python, and/or VBA.
This role will be worked on a hybrid basis with ideally working on site in the offices for 1-2 days a week.
