Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Wells & Co. Careers. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards and that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in the planning, preparation, and presentation of menus, ensuring that dishes are of the highest quality and presentation.
  • Oversee the kitchen team, ensuring that they are trained and equipped to deliver excellent food quality and service.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining accurate records of stock levels.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is clean and hygienic at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts.
  • Conduct regular kitchen audits to ensure that food safety and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and control kitchen costs, including labor and inventory expenses.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 months of experience as a Sous Chef in a busy food operation.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent food quality and service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Passion for food quality and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a busy kitchen environment.
