About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Engineer to join our team at Bloomberg. As a Financial Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing solutions for our clients' derivatives workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Financial Engineers to understand current infrastructure and gather requirements for solution design
  • Work with Engineers to familiarize yourself with Bloomberg's technology stack and decide on the implementation of solutions
  • Develop, test, and implement new solutions and migrate existing ones
  • Contribute to the team's growth by driving the incorporation of new technologies, improving development practices, and sharing knowledge
  • Solve complex problems creatively and understand the scope and impact of your work

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a technical area (Math, Physics, or Engineering) with a focus on quantitative finance
  • Proven track-record in developing financial applications in Python/Javascript
  • Ability to gather requirements and design solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to articulate clearly in group presentations and client interactions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent experience in financial engineering, model validation, or front office settings
  • Cross-asset derivatives and market risk experience
  • Experience using Bloomberg and other derivative pricing platforms
