We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Law Expert to join our team at the Royal London Group, UK's largest mutual life, pensions and investment company.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in a leading financial services organisation, helping to evolve the strategic direction and growth of our business. As a Regulatory Law Expert, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support in relation to regulatory and product-related matters. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, managing legal risks, and supporting business operations with sound legal strategies.

The successful candidate will be a motivated and commercially focused legal professional with a track record in providing legal advice on the legal and regulatory aspects of operating pensions, protection and savings business. You will have expert knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation and be able to interpret complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice and support in relation to a broad range of regulatory and product-related matters.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of legal documents.
  • Develop legal strategies and provide guidance on regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks, identify potential issues, and provide proactive solutions.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must be a qualified Solicitor from a Common Law jurisdiction with a current practising certificate. You should also have expert knowledge and practical experience gained in-house or in private practice, advising on the legal and regulatory aspects of operating pensions, protection and savings business, including applicable legislation and FCA/PRA regulation, and their impact on the RL Group.

A strong understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements regarding the operation of with-profits business is desirable. In addition, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience. Other benefits include 28 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays, an up to 14% employer matching pension scheme, and private medical insurance.
