Job Summary

State Street Corporation is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its Internal Audit function in the UK. As the Head of Audit, Senior Vice President, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the audit team, ensuring the effective execution of audit plans, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement audit strategies and plans that address the risk profile of State Street's business in the UK.
  2. Lead the audit team in the execution of audit plans, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  3. Collaborate with management to provide proactive risk advice and recommendations for process improvements.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, including the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority.
  5. Develop and maintain expertise in key laws and regulations impacting the internal audit function.
  6. Drive continuous improvement through the development and implementation of new techniques, methods, and practices.
  7. Provide leadership and oversight to the global audit plan, ensuring alignment with UK jurisdictional requirements.
  8. Monitor and report on control issues, ensuring proper addressing by management and verification of corrective actions.
  9. Report on annual audit plan progress, results of audits performed, and status on open and overdue audit issues to various Boards and management committees.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a lead auditor in Financial Services, with GSIB experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating operational business functions for a multi-jurisdictional financial services company.
  • Demonstrated examples of operating with integrity, independence, and objectivity while managing a large internal audit program.
  • Proven strength in building and leading strong teams.
  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or Business Administration, or in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Post-graduate education, with a master's degree in business administration preferred.
  • Related business experience in accounting, economics, legal, for example.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills (executive presence, gravitas, and influencing skills) at both the executive and board level.
